F1 2017 - Monaco GP

At the Monaco Grand Prix leg of this season's Formula One Championship, it seems that the one-two finish for Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen made this season even more interesting, perhaps pit strategy plays a crucial role at this race. Or maybe this one-two finish was just orchestrated by Ferrari themselves?

Whether the case that Ferrari orchestrated this driver-swapping tactic during pit stops that gained Vettel the edge to widen the gap against Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton, who finished in seventh place considerably, remains a case that needs to be answered, but behind Ferrari's controversial Monaco victory, there are some who couldn't made the cut at this year's Monaco GP such as Sauber's Pascal Wehrlein, who car was crashed through the barrier at Portier alongside Jenson Button, as well as McLaren's Stoffel Vandoorne, and Daniil Kvyat from Toro Rosso (who was crashed by Force India's Sergio Perez during an overtake at La Rascasse), among many others.

After the race, the gap between Vettel and Hamilton are now up to 25 points.

The next race is on Canada on the 11th of June.

The convention is offering refunds to attendees affected by the "last minute changes."

So, the main question is, following what happened at Arizona, would future conventions might end up on the same fate as PHXCC? Only time will tell...

McLaren's P1 LM sets the fastest Nurburgring lap time record

2016 McLaren P1 LM

A few moments ago, a Chinese-made electric supercar called the Nio EP9 set the fastest Nurburgring lap time of 6 minutes and 45.9 seconds, which is faster than the Lamborghini Huracan Performante's controversial 6:52.01 lap time. Now, Nio's reign as the fastest production car to lap the Nurburgring has been short lived by the McLaren P1 LM, after it set a lap time of 6:43.2.

WATCH:

Unveiled at last year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, the McLaren P1 LM is the extreme, road-legal version of the P1 GTR. Lanzante, the firm responsible for the F1 LM, managed to convert five (or six) P1 GTR machines for road-legal use. That meant, revamped the hybrid powertrain to retain its 1000PS power output and reducing 130lbs of weight from the GTR by removing the onboard air-jacking system, fitting polycarbonate windows, refabricating the exhaust and cat pipes out of lightweight Inconel and the bolts out of titanium. The engine bay is lined in gold, just like the original F1.

Last year, it broke the Goodwood FoS road car record in 47.07 seconds.
