2022 Repco Supercars Championship - VALO Adelaide 500

The final race of the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship, the VALO Adelaide 500, marks the end of Holden's motorsport story after six decades. The rivalry between Holden and Ford on track, the countless motorsport names it produced, the record wins it scored, all roads lead to Holden's true ending in Supercars history as the last two races of the season are no doubt the last true Australian races as the Australian motoring icon is bidding farewell.

Of course, the farewell victory tour in Adelaide wasn't always an easy one as every major drama made this finale an epic thriller. Crashes, spins, overtakes, all of the drama involved in the last two races showcased the Holden machines' true colors, especially with the struggling Shane Van Gisbergen behind the wheel.

Screengrab from Supercars

The first part of the Adelaide finale saw Chaz Mostert deliver a 1-2 finish for the WAU racing team alongside second-placer Nick Percat. An early start for the Holden farewell weekend, but the greatest ending to all is at the final race of the season, where Broc Feeney nailed his first Supercars win, becoming the last-ever Holden driver to win a Supercars race.

This is the end. The end of Holden's historic Supercars journey and with Shane van Gisbergen the last champion to represent the Holden brand, it really is the true ending Australia's motoring icon deserves.

With Holden's time in Supercars being well and truly over; a familiar rivalry has entered Oceanic soil as the rivalry between Mustangs and Camaros will kick off the new era of Supercars in the 2023 season. Will the new era of Supercars still retain its "Aussie rules" attitude now that everybody in the grid is driving pure American muscle cars?

See you next season.

Shane Van Gisbergen made headlines in the streets of Surfers Paradise as not only he swept the entire race weekend but clinched his third Repco Supercars Championship title. Not only that, his recent win gave the Red Bull AMPOL team the second team champions title it deserves.

For a Kiwi driver piloting the Holden Commodore supercar for the final time, looks like SVG managed to pen the final story for Holden's Supercars history spectacularly on Australian soil.

SVG is now a three-time Supercars champion but the Repco Supercars Championship has one final race of the season; it's the VALO Adelaide 500 this December 1-4. Don't miss it.

2022 Repco Supercars Championship - Repco Bathurst 1000

The Great Australian Race roars back with the 2022 edition of Repco Bathurst 1000, the biggest race of the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship. With jam-packed crowds, the 2022 Bathurst 1000 will mark the final time Holden will race at The Great Australian Race before Chevrolet takes over. For Shane Van Gisbergen, he's going to pen Holden's final chapter in Bathurst.

Screengrab from Supercars

This year's Bathurst 1000 roars back to life with numerous on-track disasters that occurred from start to finish, causing a total of 8 safety cars triggered, 6 DNFs, and a 1.1-second gap between the leader. It truly is the Bathurst 1000 that rocked the motoring world.

With Cam Waters ruining Holden's farewell podium sweep as his Ford Mustang racer swooped and finished in third, Shane Van Gisbergen penned Holden's final chapter in Bathurst with a win, 1.1 seconds ahead of Chaz Mostert. a 1-2 finish for Holden's final Bathurst 1000 campaign.

This is the end of the Bathurst 1000 but with only two races left this season, there's more work to be done so the next event will be the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 this October 28-30, 2022.

2022 Repco Supercars Championship - ITM Auckland SuperSprint

The Supercars Championship returns to New Zealand at long last for this season and their NZ return marked the end of Supercars action in Auckland's Pukekohe with the ITM Auckland SuperSprint. It's ironic to put it this way but this is the send-off the Kiwis wanted.

Screengrab from Supercars

Beginning with the first race, Will Davison made headlines as he became the 26th driver to win a Supercars race after turning 40 years old after defeating local hero Andre Heimgartner. However, in the last two races, hometown hero Shane Van Gisbergen overcome the odds after being technically named the winner of the incident-packed second race where Will Brown's horrifying crash triggered a red flag and the finale where the Pukekohe action ended in style with SVG's historic win.

The action in Auckland's Pukekohe is well and truly over but the Supercars action this season continues with the big one; the Repco Bathurst 1000 this October 6-9, 2022.

My FH5 Log: Bathurst Legend

Obtained from Forza Horizon 5's Rami's Racing History Storm Season Playlist, the iconic HDT VK Commodore Group A is now joining the party, and looks like I'm going to have some one-on-one with the Bathurst legend that cemented Peter Geoffrey Brock to one of the all-time-racing greats.

Based on the VK Holden Commodore, the homologation version built by the Holden Dealer Team was originally limited to 500 units but they've built two more. Painted in Formula Blue exterior color, the Group A VK Commodore is equipped with a special body kit as well as a 4.9L V8 engine that produces 260hp of power.

With a quick introduction done, it's time to get down and dirty with the Bathurst legend because...well, it's Aussie rules after all. Roll the tape!

Scarred for life but it barely made it to victory lane. What a true legend this is.

Enjoy your new ride!
