THREATS FROM NORTH KOREA: Former President Lee returns home after questioning

Former South Korean President Lee Myung-bak returned home after almost a day of questioning by state prosecutors on corruption allegations five years after he left office as South Korea's chief executive.

Lee appeared at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office in southern Seoul on the previous day as a suspect on various charges, including bribery and abuse of power. Prosecutors said the questioning ended at around midnight, but it took over six hours for him to review statements compiled by the investigators.

He has denied all accusations, denouncing the investigation as political retaliation by the Moon administration.
