Fun with the 12th Doctor's Second Sonic Screwdriver

Any Doctor Who fanatics who wish to resume cosplaying as the Twelfth Doctor but afraid that they didn't had his latest Sonic Screwdriver can rest easily because the folks from Character Options/Underground Toys made us a toy replica of The Twelfth Doctor's Second Sonic Screwdriver and I have it here. Let's take a look...

It took me over thirty dollars to buy this latest replica of the newest Sonic Screwdriver from the show but it's fair to say that it's money well-spent on this hard-to-find toy replica that you can make use of it on your next Doctor Who cosplay.

Look at this new look. So archaic, so blue, and so just like any other Sonic Screwdrivers from the past five decades of Doctor Who. Fans had a glimpse of the new one at the end of the Series 9 finale of Doctor Who, titled Hell Bent, after The Doctor and Clara bid each other goodbye and gone through separate ways. Because this is a new sonic screwdriver, how The Doctor make use of the new one remains unclear and as the latest series is coming this year, let's see how much screen exposure this new one can get.

The latest Sonic Screwdriver compared to the previous Sonic Screwdriver during the Matt Smith years. New look, same functionality.

For the first time in a Sonic Screwdriver replication, it emits not one but two different colors!

I know that anyone who want to resume cosplaying as the Twelfth Doctor can finally have this brand new toy replica based on the latest Sonic Screwdriver but feels like it's too late to explain about because with news that Peter Capaldi leaving his titular role at the 2017 Christmas Special, meaning that this new toy will be as meaningless as the imminent departure of the lead actor from the longest-running TV show in the universe. The "useless" part was just the hunch but the lead actor from the show? That's real stuff because you heard it from the man himself during an interview and while I find it very sad to see him go, it's best to make use of this new Sonic Screwdriver toy as cosplaying as the 12th Doctor for one, last time, will be the biggest sendoff offering for him.

In the meantime, I made a little video of this toy. Check it out and be sure to find one at your nearest stores if they had one.

The Best 12 Moments of The 12th Doctor

The 10th season of BBC's longest-running sci-fi series in history, Doctor Who, is coming this April and not only the show will be the last for executive producer Steven Moffat, but also for the 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi. It's kinda sad that after being around for four years since he took over the role from Matt Smith in The Time of The Doctor and now, on Christmas Day 2017, his tenure as the universe's favorite Time Lord has come to an end.

In honor of the 12th Doctor before the latest season, which will be the last for Mr. Capaldi himself, it's time for me to jot down his best 12 moments during his term as The Doctor.

1) The 12th Doctor's maiden voyage is on the Series 8 opener titled Deep Breaths. With Clara Oswald, Madame Vastra, Jenny, and Strax joining alongside him, they must take on a deadly conspiracy that left us breathless...literally. He even faced off against the Half-Face Man and his bladed minions.

2) A bad Dalek turned good...That was quite an unexpected turn for this episode titled "Into The Dalek" and for The Doctor and Clara, along with the help of a female soldier named Journey Blue (played by special guest Zawe Ashton), they CAN make a good Dalek. Journeying through the inside of the Dalek is definitely one of the most dangerous attempts ever witnessed but for that kind of situation, there is no other choice.

3) The Doctor and Clara rallied up a group of skilled cons from the galaxy to infiltrate the highly impenetrable Bank of Karabraxos in the episode titled Time Heist. Who can never forget the time when The Doctor banged the gong and he came up with a brilliant idea?

4) Titled The Caretaker, it became one of the most mind-blowing episodes in his time because not only the battle to save Coal Hill from the imminent doom caused by a menacing robot called the Skovox Blitzer but it's the fateful encounter between The Doctor, Clara Oswald, and Danny Pink that got the viewers amazed.

5) The London Jungle and how did the British capitol plagued with the forest's curse is the main story of this episode from Doctor Who titled "In the Forest of the Night" as The Doctor, Clara Oswald, Danny Pink, and a handful of students are finding out the cause of this. To make things worse, there's a massive solar flare going to engulf the world within a few moments. When The Doctor revealed that the trees saved the world from catastrophes, they're taking advantage of the overgrown forests as a protection against the imminent solar flare. After that, the world is back to the way things were. Now that we learned that trees will one day save us from imminent catastrophes, a good moral lesson to all the tree-huggers out there.

6) The two-part Series 8 finale of Doctor Who sees a fateful encounter between The Doctor and a sinister woman named Missy, who is known in reality as The Master, his longtime foe who thought he was presumed dead during their last encounter while dealing with the Cybermen threat worldwide. One of the most shocking moments on this episode include Missy/The Master killing Osgood (Ingrid Oliver), and the one when Danny Pink became a Cyberman who spared Clara Oswald. We did experience some heartbreaking moments on this episode but when the decisive battle come full circle, it was Danny Pink who sacrificed himself to lead him and the Cybermen to the cloud, which is known to be the Cyber Pollen. Looks like P.E. fought himself to his last breath.

7) The Doctor meets Santa Claus in the 2014 Christmas Special of BBC's Doctor Who titled Last Christmas. In the special, The Doctor and Clara met up with some strangers at the North Pole only to found out that they're stuck in a deadly dream only figuring a way out from a nightmare that kills them all. Celeb Nick Frost guested on the special as Santa Claus and this whole special brings the "believing in Santa" concept to a whole new meaning.

8) The two-part Series 9 Premiere sees the return of two of the most notorious Doctor Who villains such as Davros and Missy. Here, viewers witnessed Davros' secret origins and his bitter connections between him and The Doctor shocked everyone while making a crucial choice that will change his fate forever. The moment when Clara Oswald pilots the Dalek, all thanks to Missy, puzzled everyone with suspense rather than dark comic humor that our favorite baddie Time Lady pulled from her sleeves. But in the end, it was mercy that led the Doctor saved the young Davros from a distant past.

9) In Face The Raven, The Doctor and his allies ventured to an alien world, hidden on a street in London, only to found out that the countdown planted on Rigsy's head is a death sentence set by Ashildr because of the crime he committed to the refugee community. This episode witnessed the final moments of The Doctor's companion, Clara, as she sacrificed herself to save Rigsy from his imminent execution by the raven. It's a tragic moment to see one of The Doctor's beloved companions die for numerous circumstances but even with Clara's death, which we are going to mope it for a long time, it's time goes on for The Doctor as he teleports himself to another world.

10) Heaven Sent sees The Doctor taking on a mysterious place alone to find some answers while unknowingly pursued by a mysterious creature. Ever since the death of Clara, The Doctor tries to find the real answer for himself even if it means to live, die, and repeat until The Doctor has landed on Gallifrey.

11)  The finale of the current season of Doctor Who, titled Hell Bent, sees The Doctor in his home planet of Gallifrey as he tries to set things right, figure out the Hybrid presence, and in due course, avert the death of Clara Oswald. Of course, since he summoned the Clara Oswald that she was going to die, he stirred some chaos against The General and the other Gallifreyan soldiers, while making their way to the database. As they make it to the database loaded with numerous enemies chained in wires, The Doctor managed to hijacked a working TARDIS and travelled alongside Clara to the end of time itself where he made a fateful encounter with Ashildr, or better known to her as Me. With The Doctor confronting Ashildr...errr...Me, it is revealed that the Hybrid that was once prophesied was none other than, well, you guessed, The Doctor himself! Now, how come he didn't realized in the very beginning? Long story short but in the end, after The Doctor and Clara gone through separate ways, he's back to the TARDIS he truly set foot and a brand new sonic screwdriver was unveiled. Yes. It's brand new and very bluish.

12) River Song's return in the 2015 Christmas Special sparked excitement and shivers on the viewers as this episode maybe all about the hunt for the diamond inside King Hydroflax's head but it triggers chains of events involving who is The Doctor and who is River Song. It was one heck of a ride until it reached the climax of this episode where everything Whovians are wondering about have been revealed. From the singing towers of Darillium to the part where The Doctor gave River Song a sonic screwdriver as a Christmas present for her (which explains a lot to some veteran Whovians), all the truth between these two has left us quite a shock to the very end.

The latest season of Doctor Who airs on BBC One and BBC One HD this 15th of April, 2017. This season will be the biggest sendoff for the 12th Doctor and his final journeys will shatter expectations.

Forza Horizon 3: [Censored] to [Censored]...sorta

Sorry about the title but it's a clear reference from the latest Grand Tour episode titled [Censored] to [Censored] where the boys compare three British SUVs and going on their German-Austria road trip from Wank, Kissing, Petting, the Austrian village with the curse word on it, and all the way to Nuremberg. We saw the Jaguar F-Pace, the Range Rover, and the Bentley Bentayga into action and if I was just wondering if I can do the same comparison right here Down Under on Forza Horizon 3.

I already tried three of British SUVs in the past and I am already familiar with the way they behave for me because while the F-Pace excels in its handling capabilities because this is the lightest of the three, the Bentayga is the all-powerful heavyweight that shows its inner tyranny in the house of cards, and the Range Rover is all about offroad capabilities unlike any other, even though I found out that it's the heaviest of the three British-made SUVs.

Since this is Australia, it's impossible to recreate the comparison on the said Grand Tour episode but I found a piece of Grand Tour somewhere Down Under and that was called "Grand Tour Sprint", so famously called because it has the words "Grand Tour" on it and that remind anyone of the car show the former Top Gear trio were on it. Special, isn't it? And that gave me the ideal time to put these three British SUVs to the test round the Grand Tour Sprint because...it's like conducting science experiments with test subjects, only this time in cars.

To ensure a fair-playing field, I've stripped most of their upgrades to their respective tuning files so they can pick them up later after this experiment. Oh, and I also stripped off the special designs that I made because...I don't know why but this is science and no fancy accessories are allowed during the conduction of such a scientific process.

Now it's time to find out which of these three British SUVs is the best and no, there won't be any underwear, pets, sunglasses, and canned beans involved in the making of this experiment. No way. It's time to settle things once and for all and see which SUV is the best. Remember, no shortcuts because this is cheating just like what happened in the Grand Tour episode.

And so, the boxing bell has rung...

At the end of their Grand Tour sprint, I have the times;

F-Pace: 2:52.139
Range Rover: 2:41.862
Bentayga: 2:37.457

Here's the point; the F-Pace, because of its supercharged 3.0L V6 engine that produces less than the other two heavyweights, is the slowest of the three while the Bentayga, due to its tyrannical power output for a 12-cylinder SUV, is the fastest of the three, and in the end...hmmm...James May is absolutely useless.

So, the Bentayga is the fastest of the three and it's very hard to say what the dopey old idiot was doing behind the wheel because while it looks heavy inside and out, it's surprisingly fast and handles like a grand tourer, well just about. I assured that the Bentayga behaves like the good old Continental GT with the added muscle to upset the Range Rover in the race of luxury SUVs and in a straight-line performance, it would easily beat both the Jag and the Range Rover by a wide margin of reach but what could possibly go wrong with the Bentayga anyway?

Anyway, enough talk right now and time to close the case, proving that the ultra-expensive Bentley Bentayga is the best of the three SUVs and this Grand Tour episode really needs a rewrite.

Sixth Generation Suzuki Wagon R

Suzuki's new model rush continues with the all-new, sixth-generation Suzuki Wagon R, a regeneration of the company's fastest-selling kei wagon in Japan. As a worthy contender to Daihatsu's Move, Mitsubishi's eK Wagon, and Honda's N-WGN, the Wagon R has been a clear winner in this category and with its new generation, how does the new model stack up with the competition like its predecessor in terms of fuel efficiency that can't be left unnoticed by the knowledgeable few? Let's investigate.

2017 Suzuki Wagon R

2017 Suzuki Wagon R Stingray

Before taking a close look at the heart of the new Wagon R, let's observe the new model's design and it has ambiguous designs that cater to specific customers, regardless of which one they'll be going for. In the normal version, the base FX variant has a front face reminiscent of a Ford F-150 while the FZ variant features a more Vellfire-esque front face. The Stingray, meanwhile, features headlamps reminiscent of the Cadillacs of today. All models feel like they can be easily mistaken for a Toyota because the side view will put anyone a close reminder of a Toyota Alphard while the rear view looks suspiciously reminiscent of the old Toyota bB millennials would remember. Whatever the heck it is, it's a multiple cases of mistaken identities for the new Wagon R.

2017 Suzuki Wagon R interior
2017 Suzuki Wagon R Stingray interior

While the exterior possesses different identity crises from the eyes of many, the new interior sees a much bigger improvement compared to the previous model, which is a bit regular if they're honest.  The instrumental panel's now on the center of the dashboard rather than behind the steering wheel while the steering wheel looks highly similar to the latest Suzuki Swift and the available touch-screen sat-nav system now boasts smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a first for a kei car. Apart from the improved dashboard, the new Wagon R boasts the roomiest interior for all kei cars sold in Japan, so it's nice and easy to live with it and stretch yourselves while you're at it. The only downside now is the boot space, which only fits just one suitcase with the rear seats present until you fold it down to accommodate more room for your garage sale stuff and some others.

2017 Suzuki Wagon R
2017 Suzuki Wagon R Stingray

In their endless pursuit of producing fuel-efficient cars in Japan, the all-new Wagon R is powered by Suzuki's Mild Hybrid technology as seen in the Solio and the Ignis. A first for a kei car, this mild hybrid setup features an Integrated Starter Generator linked to a li-ion battery pack collaborating with its fuel-efficient 660cc engine. With the Mild Hybrid and its HEARTECT platform, which promises improved rigidity, performance, and weight loss. just like the new Swift offered, fuel efficiency has gone up to 33.4kmpl, that's a kmpl more than the previous model with the S-ENE-CHARGE on it, meaning that Suzuki has improved its fuel-efficiency ways courtesy of its Mild Hybrid powertrain and HEARTECT platform and it could soon be applied on future kei cars and models. That, ladies and gentlemen, is their trump card played right.

Don't forget that the Stingray-exclusive turbocharged 660cc inherits the same Mild Hybrid stuff from the normal ones except it delivers just around 28.4kmpl. Small price to pay for a stylish city car with a small turbocharged engine and compact sizing fit to squeeze through the gaps your average sportscar can't.

The Radar Brake Support system returns on this new model and this safety tech comes with a dual camera brake support system, which detects the vehicle and pedestrians from about 5kph in the speed range of about 100kph and to avoid collisions, the automatic braking feature triggers with the alarm and then it stops. It even comes with a lane departure warning function, and a stagger alarm function, among many others.

Should you buy one? The new Wagon R starts at 1,078,920 Yen for the basic FX model while the Stingray model starts at 1,293,840 Yen, making them more affordable than the previous models and also, good value for money. While the new Wagon R may be questionable on the outside, its fuel efficiency and tech should not be underestimated and it's going to be a new gold standard for Suzuki's future lineup of fuel-efficient cars thanks to its Mild Hybrid and HEARTECT platform that works very well from the new Swift as well as the new Wagon R. As Suzuki keeps on releasing new models more than any car company in Japan, let's see what's next in store for that Japanese car company with its newly found success with this new winning combination of fuel efficiency in the market today.

FH3 Blizzard Mountain: Big Ben

Time for another guessing game, am I right? Okay, on the front it looks more like a Bentley, a gentleman's touch of royalty served for the privileged few. Although it can be classified as a sovereign when you look at the Bentley badge at the front, something's different about this Bentley because while the front looks similar to the Continental GT, this car in question is not the Continental GT. In fact, this is the Bentley that differs it from the royal blood. Care to see it?

Holy nachos! Looks like Bentley's not safe on the SUV outbreak that spreads through most carmakers like a flu season in wintertime.

Say hello to the first-ever Bentley Bentayga, the king of luxury SUVs.

While driving Crewe's first sport utility vehicle at the Blizzard Mountain to study its capabilities, let's talk more about the Bentayga. As the first SUV in the Bentley range, the Bentayga is inspired from the EXP 9 F Concept from the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, but compared to the concept car it inspired from, the Bentayga features Continental GT-inspired face at the front and Flying Spur-inspired rear lamps at the back, but despite its differences, the Bentayga's SUV packaging is a feast to be festooned for the privileged few.

Under the hood lies the newly-developed 6.0L W12 TSi engine producing 608PS of power and 900Nm of torque and when mated to an 8-speed gearbox, it does 0-100kph near the five second mark and onwards to 301kph. This power makes the Bentley Bentayga the most powerful luxury SUV ever made. Apart from the W12 engine offered, the Bentayga is offered with Bentley's first diesel engine, in the form of a 4.0L 32-valve V8 diesel engine that delivers the same amount of torque as the W12 engine but it only produces 435PS of power.

While the Bentayga is a hunk of metal made for the high-paying footballers who love to turn on the stadium parking lot with their flashy luxury cars with six-figure pricetags, some would say that the design is pathetically ugly for a Bentley, although the interior is worth redeeming when it was festooned with luxury items that can be somewhat on the same level as a chauffeur-driven car.

Like the Range Rover, the Bentayga feels more classy and posh on the city centers while showing its adventurous character offroad, regardless of the road and weather conditions it faced. Although this is the most powerful SUV ever made, the way it handles got me worried and because of such weight, handling this supersized royalty is like taming a wild horse at a posh academy. This heavyweight body, despite its king-sized power output, is worth of a challenge for me and that gave me the idea to see how much the Bentayga can do while facing extreme icy conditions.

A posh Bentayga fit for the idol princess. Well, not really a princess but with the design inspired by Aikatsu Stars' Hime Shiratori that I just booked in for this car, feels like she's going on a ski holiday with the others, but this is no holiday vacation. Oh no. Because, after extensive improvements to make it well prepared for the filming, the Bentayga is ready to take on Blizzard Mountain like you never seen before. So, with the cameras rolling, it's time to get this show on the road!

It maybe messy during a royal rumble against the heavyweights but looks like the Bentayga became the star of the show while experiencing extreme icy conditions here in Blizzard Mountain. This Bentley ain't no Range Rover, you know, but looks like the ultra-luxurious, ultra-powerful Bentayga made me surprised that it gave me an idea. What idea you may ask? I'm returning back Down Under to compare against three British SUVs in the market and this could be an ideal task for me to do it because I swear I saw something like this before.

This is definitely one thing I'm looking forward to do it later but in the meantime, time to take the Bentayga back home because it's almost tea time and I need to be here before it.

FH3 Blizzard Mountain: A Jaguar SUV? Really?!

Look closely on this pic because at first glance, it does look like a typical Jaguar to you but when I uncover the whole picture, you won't believe what kind of Jaguar is this because this is just more than being your basic Jaguar that you took it on the city centers sunrise to sunset.

Surprised? Betcha didn't know that Jaguar made an SUV for the very first time, questioning every single car enthusiasts thinking that the company that owns both Jaguar and Land Rover realized that these two have gone off the deep end and thus resulted to this; the first ever Jaguar F-Pace, and it's available on Forza Horizon 3's Logitech G Car Pack. But first, I need to go to the Blizzard Mountain to assess this SUV for a more knowledgeable manner.

So, the main question is why did Jaguar made an SUV even though only Land Rovers do so? Is this a conspiracy, I dare say? Or are they just trying to reinvent the lineup to get back on the Germans for reigning the luxury car race? Although the questions remained unanswered until further notice, the F-Pace from Jaguar was carved from the remnants of the C-X17 Concept as seen on the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, Another important example of a concept car turned reality for the motoring public, although a small price to pay to make a vision a reality for all.

Contrary to belief that the F-Pace is basically a Range Rover Evoque in Jaguar's clothing but in reality, it uses the same underbelly as Jaguar's latest saloons in the range such as the XE and the new XF. In general, this crossover behaves like a sport saloon on the road while still delivers SUV credentials that makes it go anywhere, well just about, and it was made for the upperclassmen who goes for important meetings on workdays and then going for some leisure stuff on weekends and holidays such as going for golf, hunting, camping, or anything outdoorsy stuff people with SUVs do most of the time. Didn't they mentioned that Jaguar made a special wristband for owners to act as a carkey to access this car? Pretty clever, huh? Makes conventional car keys obsolete in the near future, I dare say.

For now, the most powerful in the range is the one with the 3.0L Supercharged V6 engine that produces 380PS of power output, almost two hundred less than the Range Rover, but make no mistake that even though the power output is somewhat lacking, it's surprisingly lighter than the Range Rover, making it very sporty to handle through the bends no SUV couldn't imagine of due to the laws of physics.

This Jaguar really puts the sport back to the sports utility vehicle because not only it looks good to look at, it's surprisingly agile and sharp. It behaves like a rear-wheel drive car as I noticed and the more I get used to this Jag, the more promising it deserves. I can really take back about the deep end part and get used to this crossover that handles like a sports saloon while delivering the SUV ruggedness it does, well just about.

Even though I don't see the F-Pace to be a proper offroader as compared to the more expensive Range Rover, I want to treat it rough to see how good as this Jag gets and since I'm in Blizzard Mountain, there are plenty of reasons to play rough with this Jaguar SUV.

Quite a fitting take on such a snowy weather but sorry, you have to see that because a hint of Yokai Watch's Blizzaria on the design is what I've ordered to do it on the F-Pace and being Blizzaria, extreme icy conditions may follow shortly. Get it? Gotta love this supernatural cutie, though, but anyway, with the F-Pace all prepped up for snow duty, time to treat it rough to see how much it can do not just as an SUV but as a Jaguar.

That was the roughest take on the first ever SUV from Jaguar even though no one's pleased with its "childish" special Blizzaria design on it but I can safe to say that the Jaguar F-Pace earned the seal of approval it deserves. Although it may not be as powerful as a Range Rover but its lightweight bodywork can really cut it like a bread knife on the silver platter and its superiority complex really outshines the German crossovers awesomely.

It maybe an SUV but it still has the "art of performance" Jaguar deserves and I am very proud of what this crossover done for me.
