Bloody Crayons

For the month of July, Star Cinema's latest offering is an absurd but horrific horror movie about a group of young people got caught in a deadly game of...well, you guessed it, crayons.

Bloody Crayons

Bloody Crayons in a horror movie that stars the freshest names in Philippine showbizness such as Janella Salvador, Elmo Magalona, Sofia Andres, Diego Loyzaga, Jane Oineza, Maris Racal, Yves Flores Empoy, and Ronnie Alonte. Directed by Topel Lee, this film is about a group of young people spending their summer vacation on a mysterious island for a short film project. When they encounter a game of bloody crayons, the gang are now suddenly trapped on a deadly game where survival is just a crayon away.

Everybody are being bothered by most horror films making horrific take on everyday objects and Bloody Crayons fall to this latest example of when you take an everyday object in real life and then giving it horrifying twist just to show that when something so playful and innocent becomes something very deadly and once your in the game, there's no way out until the game ends. So, who would rather want to see a horrifying take on a children's favorite art utensil in the first place?

Truth be told, most people are too oblivious to see such a horror movie like this especially when they turn a children's favorite into a deadly game of despair and Bloody Crayons suffered on the same fate as the other horror movies they're too oblivious about but despite being too mediocre and too absurd for a horror movie of this magnitude, that won't stop moviegoers from watching it, especially those youngsters sneaking their way through the cinemas after school to watch this film with their mates. Shady but flattering for a barkada movie to watch with your mates.

It's hard to sum up how this new horror movie fares but Bloody Crayons falls to being just a decent horror movie nothing too special about and even though it's too absurd for a horror movie, your mates are going to enjoy watching alongside with you whether you like it or not. Still, you wouldn't tell that to your mom and dad about that movie you're watching it, don't you?

My rating: 2.6 out of 5.
