AlDub goes to Enchanted Kingdom!

Photo: Official Eat Bulaga Facebook page

In the recent Eat Bulaga's kalyeserye, AlDub goes to Enchanted Kingdom! Ah yes, what nothing more than celebrate the weekend by visiting one of the Philippines most iconic theme parks in history with just the two of them. How exciting for AlDub, well almost because Yaya Dub's not familiar with merry-go-rounds and bumper cars.

But before going to Enchanted Kingdom, first they have to attend a Christmas party alongside Lola Nidora, Tidora, and Tinidora as they will give gifts to the little children and have games in a form of a calamansi relay. After a short Christmas party, Alden and Yaya are off to the said location and hoping that they will follow what Lola Nidora promised. Of course, Tidora and Tinidora are tailing them while on Enchanted Kingdom and alongside the sisters is none other than everyone's favorite doctor/explorer, Doktora de Explorer! Muy bien!

After their surprise encounters, Alden finally done the moment he would have done to Yaya Dub. He finally handed over the ring that was lost for several weeks to Yaya but just when we thought the two are finally happy together, Doktora de Explorer received some bad news about what happened to Lola Nidora!

What just happened to Lola Nidora right now? Keep watching Eat Bulaga every weekdays for more Kalyeserye antics!

Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class Coupe

Well, this is an unexpected manner. Trying to fend off the likes of BMW's sport utility coupe that started it all with the X6, Mercedes-Benz is joining the odd genre by creating their kind of sport utility coupe that combines the utility of the SUV and the exhilaration of a sports car. The Silver Arrows' first of their kind has been christened as the new GLE-Class Coupe.

2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class Coupe
2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class Coupe
This coupe version is basically based on the new GLE-Class, which is more pf a minor change version of the old M-Class it replaces as one of the firsts to implement its new naming structure but whereas the normal GLE-Class is all about being a practical crossover fit for any kinds of lifestyles, what does the new coupe version do in store? Well, thanks to its sloping roofline that you get from its BMW X6 rival, you can't really tell whether if its a jacked up saloon or an SUV at some point but don't try to count this car as a head-turner because with all that size and a questionable design even a man with a cataracts couldn't ask, no one's going to turn at a JS prom or a charity gala on one of these.

On the inside, it's the same story because thanks to its sloping roofline, some tall guys at the back are having a hard time accommodating inside and because this is a 5-seater sport utility coupe, you'll find that even with the decent boot space, it feels somewhat compromising, again, thanks to its roofline. But still, this is enough to fit most of your grocery shopping on your day off.

Under the hood, the GLE Coupe comes with a choice of a 3.0L petrol, 4.7L V8 petrol, or a 3.0L diesel engine, all mated with a 9G-TRONIC gearbox, a gearbox that is very unheard for a common driver.

2016 Mercedes-AMG GLE63 Coupe
2016 Mercedes-AMG GLE63 Coupe

If you need some added grunt to take on BMW's X6 M, not to worry because Mercedes-AMG offered a more powerful GLE63 Coupe model to accommodate that very pleasure of driving a high-performance heavyweight on the road and track, although it's somewhat unadvisable for the average car enthusiast. In the S version, the good old M157 AMG 5.5L V8 BiTurbo engine can churn out 585PS of power and 760Nm of torque. Mated with the AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic, it can do 0-100kph in 4.2 seconds and it's electronically limited to 250kph but there's an optional extra where the limit can be raised to 280kph.

In technological terms, the GLE features some cutting-edge technology ranging from ADAPTIVE BRAKE, COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS, EASY-Pack tailgate, reversing camera, Crosswind Assist, and many other tech features that is so advanced, it feels like the future really is now thanks to science. Oh great, this coupe crossover really is on right now in the techno-fest but frankly, some drivers are pretty uncertain about these tech features.

In terms of handling, the GLE Coupe is not what you called sporty as a sportscar but because being a crossover coupe, it's not what you called ideal to take it on your weekend destinations. Although this is still called a leisure activity vehicle, the only lifestyle this coupe version can do is nightlife, going to the gym, shopping, going to the indoor shooting range, and other activities rather than taking one to the beach or go on a cycling trip at the woods or camping or whatever.

The new GLE-Class Coupe starts at around 66,700 Euros for the GLE 350 d 4MATIC model, which is somewhat a thousand euros more than the base X6 xDrive30d model. It may sound much than its rival but rest assured that you'll get nothing while driving the new GLE Coupe. Don't think the nightmare is over because pretty soon, there will be another coupe crossover that will rival against the BMW X4 and that's in the form of the GLC-Class the replacement of the GLK but for now, you'd better think twice before taking a spin on the new GLE Coupe.

Cadillac ATS-V range and 3rd Gen. CTS-V

Cadillac's high-performance V-Series is back in action and now, there are different kinds of V models to choose from such as the turbocharged ATS-V and the more powerful CTS-V saloon that will scare most of its European rivals with its bigger horsepower output on par with the others. But first, let's go a little less and talk more about the ATS-V.

2016 Cadillac ATS-V Coupe

2016 Cadillac ATS-V

The ATS-V offers two different kinds to choose from such as a saloon and a coupe, and whichever model you choose, you will be greeted by the V-Series' first-ever 3.6L Twin-Turbo V6 engine for traditionalists, a turbocharged engine is nothing more of a devil's advocate, but for some, it's just all plain too weak to hear how its turbocharged engine sounds like, something that reminded you of BMW's new M3 and M4. Be warned though, this is not your BMW M3 or M4 because that V6 engine that powers the ATS-V delivers 455HP of power and 603Nm of torque, Whether it's equipped with an enthusiast-friendly 6-speed manual gearbox or an oversized 8-speed automatic gearbox, the new ATS-V can go from 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 185mph. That said, it's a checkmate to the BMW M3 and M4, that's for sure.

Even though this is a turbocharged mongrel, it still has a heart of a beast lurking in its prey and in terms of dynamics, things can get very lively because, with all of that clever suspension setup as well as Magnetic Ride Control and Performance Traction Management, there's no telling how good or great the ATS-V behaves, although you need to be as skillful as a veteran pilot to survive its gut-wrenching handling and when this car drags itself for some skid marks, approach with caution because this car can bite your neck off, seriously. This is definitely one heck of a sportscar you would want to correct its assessment from a gentlemen's club to a slaughterhouse.

2016 Cadillac CTS-V

Yes, if the ATS-V is like a slaughterhouse, this all-new CTS-V is more of a public execution if you're not careful because with that Corvette Z06-derived 6.2L Supercharged V8 engine armed and deadly at the wrong directions, there's not telling how far its dynamics would like to kill you unless you are as heroic as your grandma flipping channels on TV until she founds something thrilling that will keep her hanging on like a rollercoaster ride.

Because this new CTS-V comes with the 6.2L Supercharged V8 engine sourced from the Z06, it produces  640 horsepower, 855Nm of torque, and a top speed of 200 mph. That said, this car feels like a wolf that can chew through any leash, and its handling will truly live on its own rules. With all that torque bursting out like wildfire, mastery is going to be essentially difficult unless you have to resort to your extreme tactics but if you managed to tame that beast, you're certainly going to love its naked dynamic character that has a sense of cannibalism in terms of tire-shredding, and quicker getaways if you get it right. Sure, it may come with some high-tech features including the Magnetic Ride Control and Performance Traction Management but what the CTS-V feels is like Bobby Flay on a stick. Delicious.

Should you buy one? The ATS-V starts from 60,465 Dollars for the saloon and 62,665 for the coupe while the CTS-V saloon starts at 83,995 Dollars so that sounds like much but with all that power, there's nothing to go wrong with Cadillac's new V-Series vehicles that can eat the Europeans for breakfast, lunch, and tea, even elevenses, a cup of tea, and a glass of milk...of magnesia. We're getting jealous to have one of these...

Forza Motorsport 6: SPA day in the P1

p1

Do you remember the time when former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson drove the McLaren P1 round the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps on a rainy day? Well, if he done that kind of job, I'd reckon I'd want to give this a try in Forza Motorsport 6 using the same car he drove at the same venue. Thank T10 for the added weather on some tracks, including this.

Assuming that most people already know what the P1 is but for those who aren't, this is a hybrid hypercar that incorporates most of McLaren's motorsports know-how. It's powered by an improved version of the 3.8L V8 twin-turbo engine as applied on the 12C and a single electric motor, making the combined power output of 903HP and torque output of 664ft-lb of torque.

This car is strictly limited to 375 units, each costing GB£866,000, and all of the units have sold out. Who cares? As long as we have a game like this, trying out the P1 is as closest as we can drive on in the edge of reality and I shall now demonstrate it by driving this one round Spa on a rainy day, something that Jezza has done that years ago.

Driving that P1 on a rainy day at Spa is just a sure reason why it deserved to be called a Widowmaker because of such intimidating dynamics but hey, you get the idea because this is how the P1 behaves.

9th Generation Chevrolet Malibu

2016 Chevrolet Malibu

For some unknown reasons, Chevrolet's midsize saloon, the Malibu, has now been regenerated for its ninth generation and for this generation, the new Malibu introduces some industry firsts, including the Teen Driver Feature, but more of that later on.

First off, let's examine the new design for the new Malibu and some people might think this is somewhat more alienating than attractive rather than the previous model. While the new look is rather unpleasant for a midsize saloon, it's aerodynamically sculpted in every corner to deliver its dramatic presence that once you drive it on the road, you don't really care if this car's a head turner or not.

2016 Chevrolet Malibu interior
2016 Chevrolet Malibu interior

The same story goes to the interior because while this is basically an improvement over the previous model, it looks somewhat as complicating as a bizarre-looking dress a certain fashion model would wear it on a fashion week. Despite the bizarre-looking dashboard, it's rather comfortable to sit on it but sometimes, when you hear some noises outside, it feels kinda bothersome because while this promises to have the same level as luxury cars, it feels very cheap for a new model.

Connectivity aside, the new Malibu, like any other Chevys, come with 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity and as a first, it is available with the choice of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Use caution, however, because only one at any one time can be used. If it's iOS, go to CarPlay. If it's Android, use Android Auto. Don't care what kind of smartphone you're using at, as long as you pick the right hardware for the new Malibu to run into.

2016 Chevrolet Malibu

At launch, the new Malibu offers two turbocharged engines, which sounds very promising for a midsize saloon. Most models come with the 1.5L ECOTEC engine with Variable Valve Timing, Direct Injection, and Automatic Stop/Start that can get up to 37MPG highway, but on the top-spec Premier model, it comes with the turbocharged, 250-horsepower 2.0L ECOTEC engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which is not too shabby for the new model. Word from the mouth is that a hybrid version is underway with mileage is expecting up to 48 mpg city and 45 mpg highway.

Because the new Malibu is a step ahead to the future, it's been given a host of high-tech safety features at all sides and now, it's time to explain the new Teen Driver Feature. Suppose if you're lending the keys to the new Malibu to your teenager who recently got his or her driving license for the first time, you advise them that there are rules in driving and you told them to come back in time for tea. That's why the new Teen Driver feature kicks in. By setting a PIN code to the MyLink, the Teen Driver allows you to limit the settings before handing them over to your teenage son or daughter. It includes muting audio when they're not fastened their seat belts, giving audible and visual warnings when going over the predetermined speed limits, set limits on music volume, and informing the parents if safety features were triggered.. That's parenting done right.

The new Malibu starts from 22,500 to 31,795 US Dollars, which sounds very reasonable when compared against other family midsize saloons in its class, but with all that tech induced in this car, the new Malibu feels like a class apart, well despite the dynamics that doesn't feel like a European saloon. Yes, the Americans will be the first to know when they're driving this car but do we expect this new Malibu to arrive in other countries like the previous model did? Well, because it looks more American, chances are too slim for now.

F1 2015 finale

Image: Getty Images

The epic finale to the 2015 season of Formula One, held at Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit, may not be one of the best F1 races to date but this is probably one of the most memorable races to remember for the year 2015 because it's a "Won More Time" for the Mercedes F1 team. They're the first to raked 12 one-two finishes over their record of eleven, they scored the most points in a single season, and once again, Lewis Hamilton is named as the world champion.

Sure, Rosberg may have won the Abu Dhabi GP but Hamilton is always the king of the hill when it comes to winning the world title once again. Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen from Ferrari had excellent performance this season but they have to keep up next time, too. As for the Williams F1 team, they have done well this season, although room of improvement is still a priority if they want to be better next year.

So, that concludes the 2015 season of the Formula One world championship. Although it may not be the best season so far, the rivalries are still a top priority and next year should be more promising than the 2015 season. Until then, see you next season.

What a shocker this episode is. We witnessed The Doctor made it his way to Gallifrey for some answers but the truth will be revealed in the Season 9 finale airing next week. Be ready for it.

NEXT EPISODE PREVIEW:

Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Shooting Brake

For those who couldn't afford a more luxurious estate in the form of the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class Shooting Brake, there's a cut-price alternative to that and it's in the form of the CLA-Class, one of the most affordable Mercedes-Benz cars to start with.

2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Shooting Brake

Here it is. It's called the CLA-Class Shooting Brake and while this is basically an estate version of the CLA-Class saloon, you can't really tell apart from its looks, performance, and the added practicality of most sport tourers in Europe get. With prices start from 29,810 to 45,660 Euros, you can really afford one for less than twice the price of CLS-Class Shooting Brake. No wait, you can buy two of these for the price of one CLS Shooting Brake. Quite a bargain, right?

But this is still a CLA-Class, meaning that it's still a front-wheel drive car (with an optional 4MATIC) and while it's not as aggressively sporty as other saloons from Mercedes-Benz, it remains one of the most civilized cars to drive. You can drive one on the city streets and on the open roads as well and thanks to its 595 litres of load capacity, there's still more room to fit most of your tailgating snacks on your next soccer match. How's that for practicality?

Like the sedan version, the Shooting Brake has a wide range of petrol and diesel engines available, with the most powerful variant in this model comes with the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine generating 211PS of power and 350Nm of torque, while mated with a 7G-DCT. It does 0-100kph in 6.8 seconds and top speed limited to 240kph.

2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG Shooting Brake

If you're in the mood something hotter than your neighbor's station wagon, there's a Mercedes-AMG CLA45 Shooting Brake. Heavily inspired from its cousins, it comes with a 2.0L turbo engine generating 360PS of power and 450Nm of torque. When mated with a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT, it does 0-100kph in 4.8 seconds and top speed normally limited to 250kph. Yes, your suburban neighbors will get shocked when you have a sport tourer with that much power on your next grocery trip.

Anyway, back to the normal Shooting Brake, it's surprisingly comes with the cutting-edge gadgetry which some find it useful on their driving trips. There's COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS with autonomous braking to prevent rear-end collisions, ATTENTION ASSIST, which detects drowsiness, Mercedes connect me, and so much more.

While the new CLA Shooting Brake priced more than its saloon equivalent, it's surprisingly twice the price less than the bigger CLS Shooting Brake so it's definitely a head start if you're in a mood for a luxury car for reasonable prices. If you got one of these, safe to say that you can enjoy the city life as recommended by someone you knew personally or online.
