Welcome Back: 2010 Nissan GT-R Spec V

In an instant, the night air explodes around you...

The ground shudders under your feet...

The dizzying aroma of high octane fuel assails your head...

Your eyes watered...

Your eardrums vibrating...

Your limbics goes on hold...

All is right to the world...

The Race Across Japan...again

The 2010 Nissan GT-R Spec V returned on Forza Motorsport 4 and it does...none of these things I just said. It may have VR38DETT engine but you'd never know you'd listening to it. There's also the same feeling that it doesn't rattle violently and it does feel like, and this is only a hunch, like a Nissan Micra.

The old Skyline GT-R felt exciting in the eyes of teenagers but this one doesn't. It keeps on not feeling exciting even when you put your foot on the pedal and go completely bonkers. In the eyes of Jeremy Clarkson, this car was built for lap time purposes, not thrills.

Surely, you want to turn the traction control off to make the GT-R more exciting but according to the owner's manual that if you turn off the Traction Control, the event will be recorded on the car's blackbox and void the warranty. Sounds weird but since I'm playing Forza Motorsport 4...(clicks switch)

With TCS OFF, turning from the world's fastest laptop into a simple typewriter, it's still does exactly the same thing! Even with TCS OFF, the torque vectoring differentials are still working their magic, meaning that this GT-R still keeps on grips and grips and grips! GRIP GRIP GRIP GRIP GRIP!!!

This car can hurt you badly but it can't arouse my winning vegetables. For getting the best lap times possible, it's proven its worth but it leaves me stone cold. You'll never guess what comes next but this GT-R often disappoints me because...it's old. If only Forza Motorsport 4 included the updated version of the R35 GT-R this would be fun...

*with thanks to Jeremy Clarkson

2) Sam Pinto asks kung meron kayong napapansin na maling term. Sale is one of the wrong terms. Everyday is sale because of the selling so the correct term was "Bargain Sale" because sale was used for everyday use. Corned beef is also wrong because, where's the corn? It's just beef and that's it! Eye drops is also wrong because it has to be "ice drops".

Let's Do The News (April 27, 2012)

It's now time to do the news! And oh bugger!

What?

Due to the ongoing tension between the Philippines and China (even the Philippines are against Chinese products) in terms of Scarborough Shoal issues, it seems that every Filipino worldwide is readying a mass protest this May 11 against Chinese embassies worldwide!

Uh-huh! No matter if there was Filipinos in Japan, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Australia, America, many others with Chinese embassies involved, this event is all about taking Scarborough back from Chinese commies. I was very pleased to see them doing against China but what if The Stig's Chinese Cousin showed up?

Uh-oh....

Chinese Stig would kick Filipinos' butts badly and oh! Oh! OH! THIS IS BAD!

(laughing)

PHILIPPINES vs. CHINA! Fight for Scarborough! Who will prevail? I don't know...

(laughing)

Those tensions will last a lifetime until someone's throwing the towel...

Anyway, while tensions are getting on the DANGER ZONE, let's move on to something a bit more SAVVY...

Where is it, James?

Malaysia! I picked up some info that there will be massive guest appearances on Anime Festival Asia Malaysia 2012, the first of its kind since Anime Festival Asia was previously held in Singapore from 2008-2011.

Really? Who are they?

Says here, there will be FLOW, Sea☆A, Maon Kurosaki, Kalafina, and KOTOKO performing at the festival's concert titled "I Love Anisong.". Also, president of Production I.G. Mitsuhisa Ishikawa's attending the AFA Malaysia 2012 and also producer Tomohiko Ishii and cosplayer KANAME☆ are coming. And...

And what James?!

The guest of honor will be blogger, anime producer, and host of Tokyo MX's Culture Japan, named Danny Choo!

(applause)

Danny Choo? Who's that James?

Clarkson, if you haven't know him, he's the guy who dressed himself as a Dancing Stormtrooper in the streets of Tokyo but anyway, he's a world renowned blogger responsible for his passion for Japanese culture, even though he's a host of the popular Culture Japan program. His personal mascot, Mirai Suenaga, became an important aspect of Culture Japan. Oh, I haven't realized that Alodia even cosplayed Mirai Suenaga for sure! Danny Choo's heavily involved with Good Smile Company, JC Staff, Bushiroad (Weiss Schwarz cards), Cospa, Amiami, among many others.

I've never heard that this S-rank otaku has some charisma on him and I sorta like his way...

Yeah, I really respected his otaku-ness even though in his Stormtrooper costume but his involvement in other anime-related conventions is just one thing we really love. Anyway, enough lumpy throats for now, what matters most that he'll be there at the AFA Malaysia 2012 this June 9 to 10 at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Anyway, remember the Mayo Chiki light novel? The one that was adapted into last year's anime? According to the author of Mayo Chiki, that is Hajime Asano, Volume 11 of the Mayo Chiki novel, which is now on sale, will serve as the first half of the end of Mayo Chiki...

(awwwww)

Wait, Clarkson. Hang on a sec! End of Mayo Chiki? Wha......t?!

True, Hammond. True. The next volume of Mayo Chiki will be the last. So sorry if someone said that...

We never believe that this light novel I'd never heard about. This is much worse than....GEMAGA MAGAZINE!

Excuse me James, what's GEMAGA MAGAZINE?!

Everyone, if you never heard of Gemaga Magazine, then we're not alone. Gemaga Magazine started out in life as Beep when it came out in 1984. It was published by Softbank Creative. In 1989, it reformatted as Beep! Mega Drive, then Sega Saturn Magazine, then Dreamcast Magazine, then Dorimaga. The magazine became multiplatform once again as Gemaga (presumably a portmanteau of "Gamer" and "Magazine") in July 2006. Despite the pricing that is somewhat expensive than the popular Famitsu, it does pack some extras, especially posters and rarely, in case you've never experienced it, figures!

Sadly, the May 2012 issue of Gemaga magazine, launched since late March 2012, served as the final issue of Gemaga magazine. Here's the cover...

I was kinda disappointed about the departure of Beep or Gemaga but it's also a sad moment for fans of Gemaga's virtual dance unit known as "Me to Me". That virtual dance unit consists of Mika Tachibana, voiced by Manami Numakura (Hibiki Ganaha from The IDOLM@STER), and Miyabi Saionji, voiced by Yumi Hara (Takane Shijou from The IDOLM@STER), and features character designs by Annindōfu, an artist known for his work on Idolm@ster album covers. Sadly then, after the final issue went on sale, "Me to Me" had come to an end.

I find that very sad to see them disappeared.

(awwww)

And wait!!! That virtual dance unit, Me to Me, they were just Hibiki and Takane underneath it? Wow....

Speaking of which, THE IDOLM@STER G4U volume 7 was there and there was something I'd never told about... In the game's Pandora's Box feature, they have an option to take a picture of special guest, which is none other than Ai Hidaka from the Nintendo DS spinoff game titled THE IDOLM@STER DearlyStars. Sadly, you would just expect her on the "Exercise Wear NEO" attire only but it's okay. Feel free to take a picture of Ai Hidaka if you like...

Next month, if G4U Volume 8 comes out (the one with bridal dresses), you'll have the option to take a picture of Eri Mizutani from DearlyStars in her Pastel Bikini attire only, then in June, if the G4U Vol. 9, the last volume of THE IDOLM@STER G4U range (the one with Kimonos) come out, you'll have a chance to take a picture of DearlyStars' Ryo Akizuki in her sailor bikini attire. That's it. Nothing more, nothing else. Thank you.

Anyway, earlier, Turn 10 Studios opened up another Game with Devs and it's all bacon, bacon, and more bacon for the Forza 4 players. That's it. Fun and games occurred with more bacon occurred.

I kinda fed up with the whole Bacon stuff. If you don't like bacon, perhaps we should give them our BBC specialty; FISH FINGERS AND CUSTARD with THE V8 BEEF. BOVRIL AND BEEF SMOOTHIE! The best of both worlds! Doctor Who and Top Gear! Woo hoo!

Wait? FISH FINGERS AND CUSTARD with THE V8 BEEF. BOVRIL AND BEEF SMOOTHIE? What is it? You're going to serve them FISH FINGERS AND CUSTARD with THE V8 BEEF. BOVRIL AND BEEF SMOOTHIE?

It's a BBC fan's thing. You'll see...

Oh and speaking of which, drifter Rhys Millen's coming to Philippines this April 30 to May 1 to promote Red Bull. He came here to shoot a drifting video for the energy drink brand. Also visiting to promote Red Bull is renowned freestyle biker Julien Dupont.

First Tanner Foust for Rockstar and now Rhys Millen for Red Bull! Drifters can't get enough about the Philippines! He he he!

Speaking of Rhys Millen...

Three month ago, I have driven Rhys Millen's Veloster at Forza Motorsport 4. I think that his car is somewhat more of a rally car than Rhys Millen's Genesis Coupe drift car. So, we asked The Stig, can you drive Rhys Millen's Veloster round the track and he said yes. Play the tape!

Rhys Millen's Veloster did it in a 1:22. That's it.

That's the news! Let's serve FISH FINGERS AND CUSTARD with THE V8 BEEF. BOVRIL AND BEEF SMOOTHIE!!! Winner!

Rinne no Lagrange Original Soundtrack

Rinne no Lagrange Original Soundtrack

Anime otakus or nerds may recognize this as Rinne no Lagrage (Lagrange: The Flower of Rinne). This anime was aired in Tokyo MX since January to March 2012 and it centers on Madoka Kyono, the sole member of Kamojo High’s “Jersey Club”, who often lends anyone a hand until her encounter with a mysterious girl named Lan, who asks Madoka to pilot a “Vox” robot and defend the world against alien invaders. This is more of a mech anime but if you were a petrolhead, you wouldn't guess that the mech designs for the Lagrange anime were made possible from Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Yep, the designers behind the Nissan vehicles such as the Skyline, GT-R, Fairlady Z, and many others, were became held responsible for the mech designs. Langrange meets Nissan...Sounds brilliant but the whole 12-episode anime was just the half of the story because there will be a second season this Summer and an OVA-PS3 hybrid video game is in the works by Namco Bandai.

Anyway, while they're diddling right now, the Rinne no Lagrange OST is here and all those 32 tracks are made to reminisce back Madoka, Lan, and Muginami's adventures. Most of the in-anime tracks were carefully handmade by Saeko Suzuki in collaboration with music production duo TOMISIRO, to give an impressive range of styles accommodated to the anime's storyline. What's more, this even has TV-sized versions of the opening theme, TRY UNITE!, and the closing theme, Hello! Also, this has the insert song sung by Madoka Kyouno (CV: Kaori Ishihara), titled ジャージ部のうた.

Let me give you a tip: How about listen to this original soundtrack on a car audio from your Nissan?

2013 Audi Q5 minor change

2013 Audi Q5

2013 Audi Q5

2013 Audi Q5 interior

Nope...nope...nothing to see here. It maybe a 2013MY Audi Q5 but it's somewhat a bit stale...or is it?

Although, the outside is a little bit somewhat the same, there are some mechanical changes occurred to keep it fresh. It offers three TDi and two TFSi engines available. First off, the 2.0L TDi is available in two flavors; the one with the 143 hp and 320 Nm torque, consumes 5.3 l/100km and emits 139 g/km of CO2, then the one with the 177 hp, 380 Nm torque and fuel economy of 6.0 l/100km. The flagship 3.0L V6 TDi engine packs 245 hp and 580 Nm torque.

For the 2.0L TFSi, this has 225 hp, 350 Nm torque and 7.6 l/100km of fuel consumption. Then, the 3.0L V6 TFSi engine delivers 272 hp and 400 Nm torque.

Most have Audi's quattro technology except for the 2.0 TDi variant, which is available in FF layout. Depending on the variant, you'll have a choice of three transmission types; a 6-speed manual, 8-speed tiptronic transmission, or a 7-speed S tronic.

The Q5 hybrid is also available, using the 2.0 TFSI with 211 hp and 350 Nm and sticks it an electric motor that outputs 54 hp and 210 Nm. Together, they can generate 245 hp and 480 torque.

Previewing the Seat Ibiza Cupra Minor Change

2012 Seat Ibiza Cupra Concept

Now, back at the AUTO CHINA 2012 in Beijing and Volkswagen's Spanish division, SEAT, began selling in China because their offensive on this growth market is a further stepping stone in the development of the brand and just as important as our investment in the highly attractive, new products that we will introduce in the near future according to SEAT chairman, James Muir.

Their opening salvo in China also previewed what might look like a facelifted version of the Seat Ibiza Mk4 Cupra. The facelifted version of the Seat Ibiza Mk4 was unveiled in Geneva last March and this hotter version is gone up in the world. Some say that the production version of the facelifted Seat Ibiza Mk4 Cupra will go on sale in Europe in Q4 2012.

Nissan Cima HGY51

Two years ago, Nissan's flagship sedan, the Cima, was gone due to the economy. With the Cima gone, Nissan no longer selling cars with V8 engines on it, in fact, there is no such thing as a Nissan Fuga Y51 with a big V8 engine. For over two decades, the Nissan Cima served as the brand's flagship model that lasted for about four generations. For four generations, where does the Nissan Cima heading next?

2013 Nissan Cima

Actually, this is how they've gone next. It's the fifth-generation Nissan Cima, now designated as HGY51, and this is now more of a Fuga LWB or an Infiniti M35hL upon our encounter at the AUTO CHINA 2012. For starters, the magnificent V8 engine has been thrown away and replaced with a more "polar bear friendly" V6 engine with a hybrid powertrain on it. The all new Nissan Cima rides on a chassis that has been stretched 5.9-inches (150mm). Despite the increased length, the new Cima retains its familiar styling thanks to a sloping roofline and extended rear doors.

2013 Nissan Cima interior

2013 Nissan Cima interior

The new Nissan Cima HGY51 is elegantly equipped with semi-aniline leather upholstery, a Bose Surround Sound System with 16 speakers and 14-channel digital amplifier and an "auto intake control" system which remove allergens and bacteria from the air. The world's first forest air conditioner was also in the Cima, providing the fresh air of the forest come inside to give owners the freshness of the outside world they need. Rear passengers are also treated with reclining seats, a dual-screen entertainment system and separate audio / climate controls. On paper, this extended legroom is a fit for a Japanese politician who want to relax after a day's meeting for something something. Oh, and if you were a wealthy Japanese high school student, why don't you watch your favorite episodes of your favorite shows with the best sound quality? You could be getting interested on those...

Safety features for the new Cima? Let's take a look...there was safety shield that takes away the scratches from the car, intelligent pedal that was accompanied with the navigation system, intelligent cruise control, cornering stability assist, Lane Departure Prevention and Lane Departure Warning, and DSSS. (Driving Safety Support Systems) These features bring the owner come closer to safe and pleasant trip on the road.

Classified as part of Nissan's Pure Drive because of its hybrid-ness, the new Cima comes equipped with the 3.5L V6 hybrid VQ engine that produces a power output of 306PS/6,400rpm and the torque output of 35.7kg-m/4,400rpm. Nissan's original one-motor two-clutch parallel hybrid system named "Intelligent Dual Clutch Control" was also included on the new Cima that connects the high-response electric motor and the 3.5-liter VQ35HR V6 engine directly to the transmission, without the use of a traditional torque converter. This results the Cima a JC08 fuel economy of 16.6km/L, that's more than the Lexus LS600hL! That's incredible...

Available colors are Garnet Black, Brilliant Silver, Super Black, Crystal White Pearl, and Blade Silver.

My comment:

2013 Nissan Cima

The fifth-generation Cima is now the synonym of the Nissan Fuga Hybrid but with extended wheel base and a different face. Think of this car like...um...David Tennant...but with an anime look on him. Sorry if I had to say that but anyway, the new Cima hybrid premium sedan is no longer the Cima of yesteryears. There's nothing to explain more about this revival of Nissan's flagship sedan but I might consider it to be a bit more, well let's be kind, let's say meaningless. Once again, Nissan is stuck without a V8 car on their lineup but as the line from Torchwood says that this is the 21st century and you have to be ready but what's Nissan readying with? A flagship hybrid sedan that looks exactly the same as the Fuga Hybrid? I'm sorry but in the land of the Rising Yen, a car like this, would be rather pointless but I can't deny that this flagship sedan is all about being true to its 24 year heritage, then next year it would be the 25th year for the Cima.

Let's Do The News (April 25, 2012)

Right, the news! And last week, despite tensions in Bahrain, the Bahrain GP was happened. Sadly, due to constraints, I won't be telling the whole story about the Bahrain GP but I'll tell you who won; RED BULL RACING'S SEBASTIAN VETTEL.

Really? S. Vettel won the Bahrain GP? Don't care at all...I don't care about Bahrain GP at all, so normal operations resume in May 13, 2012, for the Spain GP. Moving on...

Ah, Jeremy?

Yes, Hammond?

There's more development regarding Doctor Who and some say, Season 7 will be the last for Karen Gillan (as Amy Pond) and Arthur Darvill (as Rory). We kinda disappointed but Karen Gillan's too cute and too pretty to be...(clears throat). Pretty sad that the upcoming Season 7 will be her last but there's more where this show come from because there will be a new companion coming soon on Doctor Who.

Really? Who will replace Karen Gillan after Season 7?

Says here its Jenna-Louise Coleman, the actress from Captain America: The First Avenger and Dancing On The Edge for BBC Two. Some say, she nailed the auditions to become Matt Smith's new companion in Doctor Who, in celebration of the program's 50th anniversary.

Uh, Hammond, if I have to ask, is it the perfect substitute for Karen Gillian?! Would the Eleventh Doctor benefit her during his mission?

Clearly, more work before Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary (in late 2013) is underway. Right, moving on...

Uh, those DLC Packs from THE IDOLM@STER 2...it seems that it has a difference between the XBXO 360 version and the PS3 version. When the PS3 version of THE IDOLM@STER 2 came out late last year, it only included the first three DLC packs derived from the original XBOX 360 version. Sadly, there's some lacking on the PS3 version of THE IDOLM@STER 2, regarding DLC packs but all that's about to change! The DLC Pack 4 you'd expect from the XBOX 360 version of iM@S 2 is now on Playstation3 for the very first time!!!

(whoa!)

Whoa, James! What?

I kinda think that all those DLC Packs on the XBOX 360 version of THE IDOLM@STER 2 are complete so what Namco Bandai decide that they want to fill the gap so both the PS3 and the XBOX 360 versions of THE IDOLM@STER 2 have all the DLC Packs for user satisfaction. The DLC Pack for the PS3 version of THE IDOLM@STER 2, the one with the...マイディアヴァンパイア, will be out this April 27, and by next month, they'll be putting...the one with the...ビビッドビキニ on the PS3 version.

Oh! I get it now, James! Speaking of which, have you played iM@S 2?

Nope, Hammond, but I'm planning to buy one...

Okay!

Moving on...

I just heard that there was one woman from Virginia found out that she won a lottery, not once but twice! TWICE! Unbelievable!

No way! How could that woman won a lottery twice? That's 200% luck for her, touche! Imagine, if you won a lottery twice, what would you do with those winnings?

I bet I could buy everything the world desires! Woo hoo hoo!

Anyway, forget about the whole lottery thing and that's the news!

Welcome Back: 2010 Morgan Aero SuperSports

The Morgan's interior is truly bespoke

Retro-futuristic looks is a plus one for the Morgan

In one episode of Top Gear USA, Tanner Foust flies to United Kingdom to try out a car that was made out of wood and that car was none other than the Morgan Aero but only this one, the MORGAN AERO SUPERSPORTS.

What's exactly is the Morgan Aero Supersports? For starters; it is a high-performance targa-roofed variant of the Morgan AeroMax, using the same bonded aluminium chassis and lower bodywork with the coupe. It makes select use of parts sourced from other companies, including the Lancia-sourced rear lamps. Like other Morgan cars, it was made from laminated ash, making it lightweight and strong. Exclusivity aside, the Morgan Aero has one of the most customizable interiors on the market, with 80 leather colors and 4 wood colors. It comes with a 4.8 litre BMW V8 engine and a choice of 6 speed automatic or manual gearboxes.

When I tried this car, I strongly believed that this is not as powerful as the Wiesmann but despite this, I believe that the Morgan is much more better looking than the Wiesmann even though their looks look more like vintage British cars from the past. There's no denying that this retro-futuristic curiosity is much more better looking from the eyes of car connoisseurs worldwide. I just can't simply lay my fingers on this bespoke beauty that is much more better looking than the Morgan that Richard Hammond owns...

Forza Motorsport 4 announces May Top Gear car pack

So, Series 18 of Top Gear was aired on BBC America, and for that, Forza Motorsport 4 announces the May Top Gear pack, coming this May 1 for only 560MSP. However, this whole "Top Gear" pack is a bit of an irony...No Ariel Atoms, no Caterhams, no Ascari, nada... It's just...

1) 2012 Hennesey Venom GT
2) 1977 AMC Pacer X
3) 2011 Ford Transit SuperSport Van
4) 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
5) 1992 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4
6) 2012 Smart ForTwo
7) 1990 Subaru Legacy RS
8) 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8
9) 1966 Lotus Cortina
10) 1965 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk.III

...that's it.

Peugeot 508 RXH

2013 Peugeot 508 RXH

2013 Peugeot 508 RXH interior

Using the technology learned from the 3008 HYbrid4, which is dubbed as the world's first diesel-hybrid engine, the 508 RXH continues this new trend that sends the rivalry between diesel and hybrid to a screeching halt and into their joint custody.

Although, it uses the 508 SW as its basis but with added aesthetics to provide its robust and feisty character lines, the 508 RXH was made for those who are adventurous enough to travel around the world but caring about the environment. Under the hood was the 2.0 l HDi FAP diesel engine that produces 120 kW (163 bhp) but with the electric motor active, it generates 147 kW (200bhp) of power. Up to 300 Nm of torque is delivered to the front wheels by the HDi diesel unit and up to 200 Nm to the rear wheels with the electric motor.

Thanks to its HYbrid4 technology, this provides the driver with four unique drive modes such as Zero Emission Vehicle, 4WD, Sport, and Auto. In ZEV mode, the 508 RXH provides quiet operation and zero emissions for eco driving. Put it on 4WD mode, and the RXH would go anywhere from tarmac, gravel, and snow. And in Sport mode, it makes the RXH more agile on the corners. The HYbrid4 technology provides 67.2 mpg of combined fuel economy and CO2 emissions of less than 109 g/km. The only available transmission was a 6-speed paddle shift transmission.

Available colors are Blanc Banquise, Gris Thorium, Noir Perla Nera, gris Haria, Brun Calern, and Blanc Nacre.

My comment:
Can the 508 RXH be an eco car that can go offroading and be kinder to the environment? PSA Peugeot Citroen says yes and with the teachings from the 3008 HYbrid4, the 508 RXH continues the trend of uniting diesel and hybrid in today's standards. This is something that only PSA Peugeot Citroen's been capable of since the 3008 HYbrid4 and the Citroen DS5.

Dawn of the Super SUVs

At the AUTO CHINA 2012 in Beijing, something strange occurred with Lamborghini. It seems that they envisioned what will their crossover look like by showcasing their URUS CONCEPT...

Lamborghini Urus Concept

Seen here? Nope, that's not your "LAMBO RAMBO" in the yesteryears but this has the weirdest name that you might expect going in the hospital for some "anal probe". Yep, that's disgusting and for those you think that the Urus name is disgusting enough, perhaps you should turn away and look at this...

Eterniti Artemis

When we last heard of Eterniti Motors back in last year's Frankfurt Motor Show with the Hemera Concept, we kinda never heard of this new brand nor is this "Super SUV" more like a tuned Porsche Cayenne with the R8's back on it but now, they're showcasing a potential production version of the Hemera concept, called the Artemis. Artemis, huh? I like that name better than the Lamborghini Urus, which is disgusting...

Anyway, what we're looking here are something more of a "Super SUVs" and this is the breaking dawn of this new category...

Is this the Sylphy G12?

Nissan Sylphy G12

Well, it could be a Nissan Sylphy G12 but as seen on the AUTO CHINA 2012, this new 2013 Nissan Sylphy G12 is now a global midsize sedan. The new Nissan Sylphy G12 will be produced at the Dongfeng Nissan Huadu Plant facilities in Guangzhou, will be released in mid 2012. Also, the G12 will be launched in most major markets worldwide during the course of 2012 and approximately 120 countries by 2014. This is part of the Nissan Power 88 master plan, a master plan that in the next six years, there's a new Nissan for every six months.

Nissan Bluebird Sylphy G10 (2000-2005)

Nissan Bluebird Sylphy G11 (2005-2012)

The first Bluebird Sylphy, designated as G10, was launched in 2000, and it was produced in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. The second generation Bluebird Sylphy, designated as G11, was launched in 2005 and currently on sale in Japan. The question is, will this new Sylphy G12 available in Japan soon? I reckoned that this new model will drop the Bluebird name for good.

Langdong is Chinese for Avante

2013 Hyundai Langdong

At the AUTO CHINA 2012 in Beijing, Hyundai Motor Company, whose joint venture in China is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2012, revealed what you might think of it as a Chinese version of the Hyundai Avante/Elantra MD, which was launched in South Korea since August 2010. It's called the Langdong (朗動).

Says here that only the 1.6L and 1.8L MPi engines are offered for the Langdong and once more, Hyundai will introduce its advanced Blue Link infotainment system to Hyundai Langdong. Remember that Blue Link infotainment system was first introduced on the new Santa Fe DM, which was launched in South Korea last week.

Special edition Evoque (as influenced by Victoria Beckham)

Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Victoria Beckham

Well, we kinda agree that the interior of the Range Rover Evoque was heavily influenced by actress turned fashion designer Victoria Beckham but this special edition Range Rover Evoque, showcased at the Auto China 2012 in Beijing this April 27 to May 2, is heavily influenced by Victoria Beckham, inside and out!

The basis was only the Evoque Coupe with 2.0L turbo engine and only 200 units will be made with China as its first target. She said "I was very excited to be working with Land Rover as I have an enormous amount of respect for the brand. I've always driven a Range Rover, for me they are the epitome of quality and luxury. For me you should feel luxury. My brand is known for quality and workmanship and so is Land Rover. So for me it felt like the perfect collaboration."

The exterior packs matte paint and 20-inch gloss black rims while the interior packs a black lacquer veneer, textured aluminum and “soft-feel” black paint, rose-gold plated accents, tan-colored leather for the seats, door inserts, armrests and cubby lid, mohair floor mats and microsuede headlining. Also, a leather luggage set and a leather wallet included on the user guide signed by Victoria Beckham was included for exclusivity.

This Victoria Beckham-influenced Evoque is all about exclusivity.

"Ginintuang Telon" for the "Reel Life"

Those Filipino movies made from the 70's to 90's became one of every Filipino movie fans' favorite because they think they're much better than the modern ones. Name any Filipino classic movies I'd love to remember while I wasn't born yet...Abot Kamay ang Pangarap, Agila, Rocky Plus V, Little and Big Weapon, Yakuza Contract, Enteng and the Shaolin kid, Isusumbong Kita Sa Tatay Ko, you have no idea what am I talking about... Most Filipino movies do feature cars like second generation Lancers, L300 Versa Vans, E100 Toyota Corolla, some jeepneys, and yes, you have no idea what am I talking about too. However, there are some Filipino movies, usually from the 70's to 90's do feature a Mercedes-Benz W108 and I think there's a bit reason for that...

A perfect prop for a proper Sampaguita Pictures movie!

It looks fantastic but was made for one purpose; being as stunning as any other premium sedans in today's world. Judging from its looks, the W108 is more than just a luxury limousine, it's a celebrity phenomenon. No wonder there are some Filipino movies of yesteryears do featured this...

Anyway, the special kind of W108 or W109 as they meant it, the 300SEL 6.3, is featured on Forza Motorsport 4 via the April Alpinestars Pack. At first glance, it looks more like a beautifully appointed luxury saloon because of the leather seats and some classy interior but what lies beneath this stunning machine is a 6.3L V8 engine derived from the 600 sedan. It has a top speed of 137mph and it can go 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds. It was mated with a 4-speed gearbox.

Standard equipment? Let's take a look...Air suspension, ventilated disc brakes on all four wheels, power windows, central locking and power steering, those are the standard features of the 300SEL 6.3 that's for sure.

An article from Motor Trend told about the 300SEL 6.3 that when it comes to maintaining or restoring the car, this car was made to last but owners are going to chase a worn-out example. The parts supply is good, supported by Mercedes-Benz, cheaper models provide body panels and trim, but the wood/leather interior will make restoration costs so expensive.

HowStuffWorks said that the 300SEL 6.3 has benefits such as being a prestige with punch, convenience, superlative quality, solid handling and its rarity. The disadvantages include that there are problems to the air suspension due to leaking, it's always thirsty for petrol faster, and some parts for this car are in short supply. Production of the 300SEL 6.3 began in 1967 and ended in 1972, totalling 6,526 units ever made.

Despite that the 300SEL's being a bit staunch, a bit old, and went out of production, it's still keeping up, even on Forza Motorsport 4. It's not more than just a good choice for classic car enthusiasts, this is more like a TARDIS...A time machine....

In my head...I'm not playing Forza Motorsport 4 and the year is not 2012. The year was 1962, I have a huge mustache, and I was the star of a new Sampaguita Pictures movie...

Reel Life daily!

Sampaguita Pictures? Oh, you got to be kidding me. Just because you drove that 300SEL does mean that you feel like a star of a classic Filipino movie? You're the corniest of the kind but clearly, we're planning to spoof a Filipino classic movie as a tribute to this 300SEL 6.3 but in the meantime, time to push this car round the Top Gear test track!

Uh, I just realize something...That rings a bell...

The RED PIG wows the Top Gear Studio

The Red Pig? Oh! The racecar based on the 300SEL 6.3 but being swapped with a 6.8L engine! In case you never know, four decades ago, AMG was just a small local tuning company back then. They produced special competitive versions of the 300 SEL and had an impressive, albeit short, racing career due to lack of proper tires or rule changes. Those race-spec 300SEL cars are nicknamed "Red Pig" and they finished 2nd place in the 24 hours of Spa in 1971. Five were made, three racers and two test cars. Last original works-built Waxenberger 69 "red pig" is Vehoniemi Automotive Museum, Finland.

This changes everything! There is a body kit that will replicate something from the Red Pig but what about the livery? The RED PIG livery? That requires someone with a degree at Fine Arts to do so but if you're lazy, find one at the Storefront. The RED PIG livery is the best-selling 300SEL 6.3 design in this game.

Sadly, with full power, it's hard to master a 300SEL tuned to "RED PIG" standards. Even when you take it out at the Top Gear Test Track, it's somewhat pointless. Happily however, if the RED PIG wasn't your good idea, perhaps you should look around with its spiritual successor...

Father and Son

This is the star attraction of Forza Motorsport 4's April Alpinestars Pack, the #35 Black Falcon SLS AMG GT3.

Four decades ago, Hans Heyer achieved a class victory with his Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.8 since 1971. His son, Kenneth Heyer, follows his father's footsteeps with the Black Falcon SLS AMG GT3, wearing the same livery as his father's.

Kenneth Heyer said in the Mercedes-Benz press release "It's a great honour, exactly 40 years after my father's success, for me to be bringing the Black Falcon SLS AMG GT3 to the starting line of the 24-hour race in Spa-Francorchamps. Together with my team colleagues, I will be trying to achieve at least second place. The SLS AMG GT3 has the potential for a place on the winner's rostrum, but as we all know, a 24-hour race obeys laws of its own,"

His Black Falcon SLS AMG GT3 wore the same number 35 as did his father's 300 SEL 6.8 AMG. In 2011 the team ended up taking a respectable third. The car went on to take second at the Bathurst 12 Hour Race as well.

Anyway, this is more like a "Like Father, Like Son" thingy when it comes to this SLS AMG GT3 wearing the RED PIG outfit but because THIS is the SLS AMG GT3, you can work on for some race replicas or fantasy race liveries. Sounds brilliant but it takes a man with a Fine Arts degree to create one.

Either the RED PIG or the Black Falcon, this is more like Mercedes-Benz's two racing legends from two different eras.

Be in no doubt then that the 300SEL 6.3 is more of a movie star of a classic Filipino movie but when converted into the RED PIG, this is much like the other racecars from the yesteryears. As for the Black Falcon SLS AMG GT3, well, it takes time to please his father and that is why he should...
