BMW 3-Series F30

Served as the entry-level sedan at the same level as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Audi A4, the BMW 3-Series has a heritage that span over five generations since the first one came in 1975 and this sixth-generation 3er (designated as F30) continues the 3er legacy under its new circumstances and new perceptions to provide the joy of being BMW's entry-level luxury RWD luxury saloon that is fit for the beginners.

2012 BMW 3-Series

For the first time in 3er history, the new BMW 3-Series is now available in three equipment lines that suit your personality such as the new SPORT LINE, LUXURY LINE, and MODERN LINE. The Sport Line features a dynamic appearance on the F30, the Luxury Line provides elegance and exclusive appeal, and the Modern Line provides a contemporary character of the F30 3-Series. In my point of view that despite the three lines, all I can expect is the eccentric front view that comes with a very eccentric front lamps that doesn't look good. If that wasn't eccentric enough, the new F30 features a side view that comes from the old E90, and the rear view that came from the BMW 5-Series F10. What was that? Come on BMW, you can't just mash up like a machine gun. You just need to emphasize the elegance and perfection of the new F30 in order to look good but what BMW did on the F30 made me confused. I don't really get it.

2012 BMW 3-Series interior

The typical interior looks the same as all of the current BMWs and that is very confusing in the eyes of the BMW enthusiast. What differs for the new BMW 3-Series is when the four circular dials (fuel gauge, speedometer, rev counter and oil temperature gauge) come with a black panel display and a freestanding standard-fitted iDrive monitor with high-resolution display that has no folding mechanism. That doesn't matter because what's more enjoyable on the F30's interior is connectivity. Thanks to BMW ConnectedDrive, drivers can use BMW apps to post Facebook statuses, Twitter tweets, iPhone connectivity, Bluetooth office, and surf the internet while driving. That is very convenient for a hard-working businessman in Europe.

2012 BMW 3-Series

To keep the F30's performance sticking true to its "Freude am Fahren" slogan, it comes with a selection of BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol or diesel engines that are Euro V compliant. Because there are so many, let's make it a bit more simple from each and every variant.

At the start, the 320d, 320d EfficientDynamics Edition, 328i, and the 335i are the first F30 models to be available as of press time while other models will follow shortly. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard but customers can be offered with an 8-speed automatic transmission sourced from ZF. To provide fuel economy, drivers can turn on the ECO PRO mode to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 20%. Also, most models come with an idling stop function that shuts off the engine when stopped at the red light. Don't worry though that for some haven't know, air conditioning still active when the engine is stopped courtesy of idling stop. To provide drivers with more throttle response and sharper handling, they can switch on the Sport Mode but believe me, this would end up into an uncomfortable experience on the roads ahead.

There are numerous features that can be somewhat beneficial for the safety of the drivers' eyes such as the Surround View, that checks on both sides at the front so you won't need to turn your head from left to right because this feature does the thing for you. Then, there was also the Park Assist that provides parking safety, essential if you're undertaking parallel parking. The BMW F30 comes with the Real-Time Traffic Information to check out some traffic updates all around you and guess you may find it that this is better than listening to the radio for real-time traffic, which is a complete waste of time! Those are a lot of safety features equipped on the new BMW F30 but sadly, I have no time to explain what are the safety features equipped on the F30.

Anyway, the new BMW F30 3er comes in seven exterior colors; Saphirschwarz metallic, Havanna metallic, Melbourne Rot metallic. Glaciersilber metallic, Imperialblau Brillianteffekt metallic, Mineralgrau metallic, and Alpinweiβ uni.

My comment:
BMW's entry-level RWD sedan, the 3-Series, is now on its sixth-generation and it continues the tradition that was span over three decades but for such design, I wasn't very impressed because what BMW did is just a mash-up of absolutely nonsense. Although, I don't like the way the new exterior behaves, the uniform interior seems to be getting a bit state of the art thanks to BMW ConnectedDrive. Because I can't find any boring Natural Aspiration on the new 3er, well count me in because of the BMW TwinPower Turbo engines with direct injection technology that provides better fuel economy without sacrificing performance. If this is the kind of car BMW made, well count me in because this is the future of BMW but why would we all want to leave the present with this new model?
