Mercedes-Maybach S-Class (Z223)

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class returns on the 223-spec model and this new model is going to be the ultimate flagship premium saloon that will bring wealthy clients sitting at the back the feeling they will never forget. Let's investigate.

Priced at an ultra-expensive 166,945 Euros plus additional costs, the all-new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is the ultimate expression of a luxury sedan that delivers almost everything the 1% desired; looks, comfort, performance, and tech, bundled up into the ultimate moving castle only the wealthy can afford.

While it is longer than the S-Class 223 long wheelbase, the Maybach variant adds bling to the said model judging by its unique front face and the massive wheels implemented to it. Although it's not what you called pretty, it's definitely a show-off and it's surprisingly Instagram-worthy. Influencers who got their sight on this blinged-up version of the S-Class will have their headlines heard round the world.

While the exterior is a complete shower, the handcrafted interior is the ultimate highlight of the new Maybach S-Class. Of course, the driver side still packs the same massive touch screen as the base model with the MBUX user interface including the Alexa-ish "Hey Mercedes" voice function, but on the passenger side, this is where VIPs get to relax after a busy day thanks to its longer wheelbase.

When you hit its sweet spot like a true VIP, you can truly experience what's like to be in the ultimate luxury sedan that is truly a fine fit for the kaiser. With so much gadgetry at the back to enjoy for the clients sitting at the back, the all-new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class truly shows them the "out on a limo" feeling they will never forget even when getting out of it.

The Maybach S-Class is powered by a choice of a 4.0L V8 BiTurbo and the ultra-ancient 6.0L V12 BiTurbo engine. They're both featured mild-hybrid tech and they are mated to a 9G-TRONIC transmission. The V8 variant produces 523PS of power while the V12 variant produces a whopping 612PS of power, making it capable of going from 0-100kph in 4.5 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250kph.

Weighing almost three tons, the Maybach S-Class is not what you called sporty because it will never be even when you hit its sportiest setting but in terms of comfort, the Maybach S-Class fulfills that promise, something that nearly took from the pages of its chief rival, the Rolls-Royce Phantom. When the DYNAMIC SELECT is engaged on its signature MAYBACH mode, this sedan truly shows its solemn side on the city streets, and thanks to its best rear-axle steering available, it's nearly easy to turn as well, better than the previous Maybach S-Class.

Having satisfied with its near-perfect definition of a first-class experience, the new Maybach S-Class features a wide array of safety features such as Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Steering Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Lane Changing Assist, Active Emergency Stop Assist, ATTENTION ASSIST, and many others. For the first time, the new model comes with frontal airbags for both rear occupants as well as the belt bag and the seat cushion airbag.

Fit for influencers, celebrities, politicians, and other VIPs everywhere, the all-new Maybach S-Class is all about satisfying every wealthy individual with the highest levels of comfort and technology bundled up to the kaiser's moving castle that is worth a thousand hashtags. If you see one, get ready because this car is in for a good time, even after hours.

Mercedes-Benz kisses Maybach goodbye in 2013.

Maybach

In the year 2002, Mercedes-Benz resurrected the Maybach brand to compete against elite luxury brands like Bentley and Rolls-Royce but sales are not like what it seems. As the brand's fate is gone on the downfall and even the sale to Aston Martin ended in a failure, a report from AutoWeek said that Benz will going to kill the Maybach brand at the end of 2013, moments after the next-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class come out in the open.
