- The annual joint US-Philippine military training exercise or Balikatan kicked off its first phase yesterday with the joint launching of construction and medical engagements in Panay and Palawan. Balikatan is a signature element of the US-Philippine military cooperation focused on a variety of missions including humanitarian aide, maritime law enforcement, and environmental protection. This year's joint military drills take place in various areas of the country following the official opening on the 4th of April to the 15th of April, 2016.

- Following the $81 million money laundering issue, senators stressed the need to include casinos in the coverage of the Anti-Money Laundering Act. The money laundering issue involves funds allegedly hacked from the Bank of Bangladesh in the United States, and which reportedly entered the Philippine financial system. Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago said the Philippines is on the verge of becoming the world's money laundering capital if most casinos isn't covered by the AMLA.

- Environment Secretary Ramon Paje appealed to Filipinos to take part at this year's Earth Hour, which will take place this Saturday at 8:30 to 9:30 PM. The Philippines has been participating in Earth Hour since 2009 and Filipinos are among the biggest contributors in the climate movement organized by the World Wildlife Fund.

- Japan Coast Guard officials say three Chinese patrol ships briefly entered Japanese territorial waters near the Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea on Wednesday. The incursion lasted for about an hour and a half in the afternoon and as of 1540 hours Japan time, three Chinese vessels were cruising in a contiguous zone about 24km southeast of Kubashima island.

- South Korean business firms asked the government reopen the Kaesong industrial complex. Last month, the South Korean government suspended operations in the Kaesong complex following North Korea's recent nuclear test and rocket launch and the North said it will seize all South Korean assets in the complex.

- The Argentinian coast guard has sunk an Chinese fishing vessel that had allegedly ignored warnings to stop fishing illegally in its territorial waters. The coastguard said that its officers asked to board the Chinese ship. It says when the ship ignored warnings and tried to force a collision with the coastguard vessel, the officers fired shot. The trawler shot but all 32 crewmembers were rescued by either the coastguard or another Chinese boat sailing nearby. No one is injured.

- Belgian prosecutors say a flag of the Islamic State was found in the apartment where an armed man was killed in a crossfire between gunmen and policemen investigating last year's Paris attacks. French and Belgian police raided the apartment in southern Brussels on Tuesday and at least two men attacked and police officers returned fire. The dead man was a 35-year-old Algerian living illegally in Belgium. They say police found the ISIL flag, an assault rifle, and ammunition in the apartment.

- The Mercedes-Benz GLC43 AMG was unveiled before its New York Auto Show premiere next week, packed with the 3.0L V6 BiTurbo engine producing 362HP of power.

- Nissan will unveil the 2017MY update to their GT-R flagship sportscar at next week's New York Auto Show.

- The six shame faces they called the Matsuno brothers from the hit TV series Osomatsu-san, finally got their own figmas for keeps! Get ready, fans, because orders for the Osomatsu-san figmas, starring Osomatsu, Karamatsu, Choromatsu, Jyushimatsu, Todomatsu, and Ichimatsu, are now open for booking with each cost 3,611 Yen plus tax. Arrival of each of the Matsuno bros. commences this October.

- In case you missed the recent Eat Bulaga Kalyeserye; today is the 35th weeksary of Aldub and with them and the lolas made a sudden return to the mansion with their sudden encounter with Cookie, the gang are remembering their favorite moments during their mansion return. Minutes later, Dudang appeared and she told Yaya Dub about the key she got last week. That key is for the treasure chest where, inside, the deed to the mansion is inside.
