Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift & S400 Hybrid

Back in 2005, Mercedes-Benz, the premier German luxury car maker in the world, just launched the fully redesigned S-Class to bring totality to the premium sedan category. For the 2010 Model Year, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class has gone into minor changes to bring one step closer to luxuriousness and sportiness.

And that is not all, the AMG lineup which consists of the sporty S63 AMG (also available in LWB version) and the longer S65 AMG received a dramatic changes in style and performance.

Besides the S-Class' minor change, there is a new addition to the S-Class family; an ultra luxury S400 Hybrid that is sure to outperform the likes of the Lexus LS600h/LS600hL. (but expect minor changes for the LS soon)

How to consider its minor change

To consider how had grown the S-Class looks like, the exterior is simple; the front view has a familiar bumper which comes from the E-Class, meaning that elegance and sportiness combined in one premium full-sized sedan. Aside from the E-Class bumper, there so many cosmetic changes occurred on the new S-Class such as new rear lamps, new daytime running headlamps, new set of wheels, and a newly updated grille that provides aggressiveness for the luxury car.

The interior received some changes from the previous S-Class, especially the wooden paneling and the leather seats were really improved to bring harmony for the executives everywhere. On the instrumental panel, there is nothing new here but on the HDD navigation system is really far from being extraordinary. On the AMG version, you can see the AMG interior treatment happened on the S63 and the S65 AMG variant; seats with AMG badge, AMG Steering Wheel, AMG Sill Panels, and for the first time; PASSION leather interior! (Exclusive on the S63 AMG)

HOW WAS IT?

With a numerous list of engines (including the new 3.5 V6 Hybrid engine), new interior design, and the new exterior that brings closer to becoming the top-tier luxury car of the world, it is good to say that the face-lifted S-Class and the new S400 Hybrid can be the perfect combination to take down other premium sedans such as the Lexus LS, the Audi A8, and the BMW 7-Series. Expect the newly face-lifted S-Class to bring a lot of huge success to the world market especially when MB is planning the S-Class Coupe to be arrived sometime as a replacement for the CL-Class premium sports coupe.
